Our games and toys highlight exploration. Here you will not find a pile of static content, but experiences created to stimulate imagination and creativity.


Our digital toays are tools that merge artistic, ludic and pedagogical components. Learning is the natural consequence of experimenting and making connections between the toy and the elements of the physical world.


Our specialty is the world of the kids. As fathers and educators, we know that immersion in the digital world can be harmful if it is not done with care and attention to detail, specially for younger kids.

We believe the digital toay can enrich research and discovery and also stimulate play and group experiences. This can happen both at the school environment and at home, amplifying interests and generating new ideas for play and activities not connected directly to the electronic world.

Know some of the main products developed by our team.

  • 1994-95

    In the beginning

    Tabuleiro was founded as an animation shop, working in partnership with TV stations and ad agencies.

  • 1996-98


    We were pioneers in Brazil in the area of CD-ROM interactive content, working with some of the biggest companies in the country.

  • 1997-99

    Web Games

    Commercial internet is available in Brazil for the first time. Tabuleiro produced games and interactive novels for the main internet portals at that time, including AOL, UOL and ZAZ.

  • 1995-2013

    Technology development - Xtras

    During almost two decades we exported technology in the form of plugins for Macromedia Director, the leading development environment for multimedia CD-ROM production. Our products were used by more than 20,000 developers in 90 countries around the world.

  • 1997

    ABC Turma da Mônica

    Adaptation of the book from Editora FTD, for kids ages 5 to 7. Created by FTD, Art dy Maurício de Sousa Produções and Development by Tabuleiro.

    CD-ROM that launched EMBRAER regional jet family and one of the pioneers in the usage of VR on CD-ROM in Brazil. Winner of the Aberje prize and highlighted at the Farnborough Air Show 98

    Cabeção - ZAZ/Terra

    A funny quiz game. Gold in the Games Category and Grand Prix on Prêmio About 98 (Brazilian Media Prize).

  • 2000

    IstoÉ - Brasil 500 Anos

    Awarded version of the Historic Atlas in commemoration of Brazil's 500th year of discovery. Includes educational content, maps and pictures, and was distributed to millions of people at newstands.

  • 2003-04

    História em Quadrões

    A guided history to the history of art with Brazil's premier kids IP, Turma da Mônica. Product created, written and developed by Tabuleiro, licensing art from Maurício de Sousa Produções.

  • 2008-12

    Banco de Atividades, Porta Aberta and Vontade de Saber

    Series of educational titles produced for Editora FTD and Scriba Editorial.

  • 2014-15


    App for tablet e smartphones. One of the winners in the Inovapps contest, promoted by the Federal Government of Brazil and the Ministry of Communications, serious games category.


We are parents and educators with large experience in technology and education:

Mauricio Piacentini

Designer and programmer

One of the founders of the company. PHD in Tecnologias da Inteligência e Design Digital (PUC-SP) and MA in Comunicação Social (ECA-USP). Active internationally in the games and free software communities, with dozens of talks in different events both in Brazil and overseas.

Maíra Scombatti

Psicopedagocical coordenation

Specialization in Psicopedagogy by the Instituto Sedes Sapientiae, works with children and teenagers since 1999, conducting classes and coordinates educational projects in schools and youth centers.

Works with Tabuleiro since 2013, adding the maternal and careful vision necessary for our products to work well in family and school environments.

Our teams are flexible: we have a number of regular collaborators including developers, artists, musicians and educators from different states in Brazil and overseas. For each project we assemble an unique team, depending on the art style and technology used.
